Rep. Richard DeBolt selected for additional leadership role on House Environment and Energy Committee

Rep. Richard DeBolt, R-Chehalis, has been appointed to an additional leadership role as the ranking member of the House Environment and Energy Committee. The committee considers issues related to environmental policy, air quality, recycling other environmental issues. The committee also reviews energy standards, production and conservation.
“I'm looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and working hard to find solutions to the environmental and energy challenges facing our state,” said DeBolt. “I believe that collaborative and positive regulation can pave the way for better environmental legislation.
“Opportunistic measures provide options for environmental protections that we all can benefit from,” continued DeBolt. “By incentivizing business owners to do the things that help keep our air, land and water unpolluted we encourage strong economic growth and a clean environment.”
In addition to his new role on the House Environment and Energy Committee, DeBolt serves as the ranking member on the Capital Budget Committee and is a member of the Health Care and Wellness Committee.
The 60-day legislative session began Jan. 13 and is scheduled to end on March 12.
