Rep. DeBolt speaks against standardized health plans that expressly limit individual choice and freedom

Rep. Richard DeBolt, R-Chehalis, speaks against standardized health plans that expressly limit choice over time. The 20th District lawmaker notes that state government funded, socialistic approaches to health care shift the financial burden to self-funded plans, making health care even more expensive for individuals. DeBolt also says requiring public option, standardized one-size-fits-all plans will hurt other parts of the insurance market, such as private coverage and people who depend on Medicaid. House Bill 1523 was approved by the House, 57-41 with every Republican voting no.
