Rep. Richard DeBolt announces committee assignments for 2015 session

Rep. Richard DeBolt announced he will continue to serve as the ranking Republican on the House Capital Budget Committee for the 2015 session, which began today. The Capital Budget committee considers the state capital budget which funds the construction and repair of public buildings and for other long-term investments, such as land acquisitions and transfers.
“I’m pleased to continue my work on the Capital Budget committee. That’s where we’re going to get the bulk of work done to help our communities handle future flooding,” said DeBolt, R-Chehalis. “The recent flooding in downtown Chehalis reminds us all how crucial it is for us to secure funding and effective tools now to help our communities prevent flooding in their homes and businesses. I look forward to working with the chair to ensure we have the right statewide water plan.”
DeBolt’s other House committee assignments include:
- Assistant Ranking Republican, Technology & Economic Development Committee, which considers issues relating to technology and electronic communications, small business assistance, business financing, and the development of industry clusters, international trade and technology driven jobs. The committee also considers issues related to renewable energy standards and energy availability, production and conservation.
- Health Care & Wellness Committee, which considers a broad range of issues relating to the provision of physical and behavioral health care services for both children and adults, long-term care, and strategies to better promote better health.
“In all of my committees, I will bring the voice of our rural district and our unique needs to Olympia,” DeBolt said. “The Legislature can sometimes become an echo chamber, but I’ll continue to share the stories of real people trying to earn a living and plan for their futures.”
The 2015 session is scheduled to last 105 days.
