Joseph Rothlin spends week paging for Rep. DeBolt

Joseph Rothlin, a sophomore at W.F. High School, recently spent a week serving as a page in the Washington House of Representatives. He was sponsored by House Republican Leader, Richard DeBolt, R-Chehalis.
Joe the son of Chehalis residents John and Brenda Rothlin. A member of the Chehalis High School football and basketball teams, Joe also maintains a 3.8 grade point average.
While serving as page, his responsibilities included delivering messages and documents to legislators and legislative assistants, committee meetings and House chambers. He also spent time in the legislative page school learning about state government.
Young men and women have come to Olympia to serve as pages for the Washington State Legislature since 1891. To become a page, students must be in good academic standing and obtain permission from their parents and school.
“It was great to sponsor Joe this session. He is a hard worker and the legislative page program is a great opportunity for students to experience firsthand how state laws are created,” said DeBolt. “It’s always an honor for me to sponsor young men and women interested in being a part of the democratic process. Hopefully we will see him back in Olympia as a legislative leader down the road.”
